The story behind The Nourished Season

The Nourished Season grew from my love of cooking with the time of year rather than against it.

Cooking seasonally, for me, means taking inspiration from what suits the British time of year.

It’s about enjoying strawberries, tomatoes and courgettes through the warmer months, then naturally moving towards blackberries, orchard fruits, squash, mushrooms and comforting dishes as the evenings begin to draw in.

I love the way British food changes throughout the year — not just the ingredients themselves, but the way we want to eat them.

Spring

Fresh greens, peas, asparagus, herbs and lighter meals.

Summer

British berries, tomatoes, courgettes, new potatoes and colourful, simple cooking.

Autumn

Apples, pears, blackberries, squash, mushrooms and food that starts to feel warmer and more comforting.

Winter

Leeks, cabbage, carrots, parsnips, potatoes and hearty dishes made for colder, darker days.

The Nourished Season is about following that rhythm — cooking food that feels right for the weather, the produce and the British season we’re actually in.
